Left 4 Dead (PC Game)

Description:

Left 4 Dead is a cooperative first-person shooter video game. It was developed by Turtle Rock Studios, which was purchased by Valve Corporation during development. The game uses Valve's proprietary Source engine, and is available for Windows, Xbox 360 and Mac OS X. Development on the game was completed on November 13, 2008, and was released digitally on November 17, 2008, and at retail on November 18, 2008, in North America,
In Australia on November 18, 2008, and on November 21, 2008, in Europe and Japan.

Set during the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, the game pits its four protagonists—dubbed the "Survivors"—against hordes of the infected. There are four game modes: a single-player mode in which allied characters are controlled by AI; a four-player, co-op campaign mode; an eight-player online versus mode; and a four-player survival mode. In all modes, an artificial intelligence (AI), dubbed the "Director", controls level pacing and item placements, in an attempt to create a dynamic experience and increase replay value.

Left 4 Dead was well received by the industry media upon its release, with praise given for its replay value, focus on cooperative play, and movie-like experience. Several criticisms were aimed at limited level selection and the lack of a narrative. The game has won several publication awards, as well as distinctions from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and British Academy of Film and Television Arts. As was done with Team Fortress 2, Valve plans on supplementing the game with free downloadable content. The first of these, called the "Survival Pack", was released on April 21, 2009. The second piece of DLC was charged for via Xbox Live and came in the form of a new Campaign entitled "Crash Course," released for both the PC and Xbox 360 on September 29, 2009.

The popularity of the game led to the development of a sequel, Left 4 Dead 2, which was released November 17, 2009. Left 4 Dead 2 was released on Mac OS X via Steam on October 5, Left 4 Dead was later released on October 28. Left 4 Dead 2 was released along with a new map for both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, called The Sacrifice, as well as No Mercy being imported into Left 4 Dead 2, allowing for cross-platform support between PC and Mac versions.

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (PC Game)

Description:

I lied to myself that it was over.
I was still alive, my loved ones were still dead.
It wasn't over.

Released from prison through his contacts in higher orbs, Max Payne is back on the NYPD as a hero; but he is living a life of misery, tormented by the memories of his murdered family.
One day, investigating a routine case, Max runs into Mona Sax. The mysterious and seductive paid assassin who joined Max in his revenge against Nicole Horne tells him that both of them are in great danger. Now Max needs to run against the clock, to solve the case which seems to be all about his murder. His only ally is a woman who's wanted by his own police dept.

Max Payne 2, the follow-up to the styled third-person action shooter, brings back the noir detective atmosphere, the stunning John-Woo-style action sequences, and the few survivors from the first game: Mona Sax is back, Vladimir Lev is back, Vinnie Gognitti is back, Jim Bravura is back, Alfred Woden is back, and the mysterious Inner Circle is working again.
Someone wants Max dead. Who? Why?

Max Payne 2 is built on the same engine as the first game, but it's been loaded up with all the special effects of next generation games. Dynamic shadows and lighting effects, cubic mapped reflections, and high resolution textures make the game look incredibly real. The "Havok" and "Ragdoll" physics engines take care of objects and characters respectively, creating an incredibly realistic and interactive game world.

Gameplay has been also enhanced, there are even more weapons, we can use two different weapons at the same time, there are NPCs who will join sides with us, and the much-acclaimed "Bullet Time" feature has been upgraded to version 2.0, in which Max's speed in "bullet time" increases as he gets more kills.
The game also offers several unlockable difficulty and gameplay modes, once finished.
